I did like infidelity fics, as long as there was a happy ending, but then I think I had an overload at this year's Snarry Games. All the fics were bloody well written, and so good to read, but there was a huge amount of angst. "Sadness of Eros" was wow, but I don't think I could re-read it.
I'm currently reading a fic called "Situational Ethics" by Zega, http://hp.adultfanfiction.net/story.php?no=600014584&chapter=1
in which Snape cheats on his wife to be with Harry -- It is a WIP and Mpreg btw! But I think it is the first time in which I've read a fic where Snape cheats on a wife he actually likes, rather than it being Harry cheating on Ginny.
In reality I prefure it where Ginny was never involved with Harry. There is one by Sushi on WTP where Harry is pretty much happily married to Ginny yet still has sex with Snape, that was a really good read!
I don't usually like Severus cheating, but I would love to see how the author deals with Snape. Is he in character?
I will have to check out the stores you mentioned. Thank you.
Hums, perhaps a loaded question, is Snape ever really in character for slash fic? I like him, he isn't mushy, he sort of uses Harry in a way that makes me happy, as far as I see it that doesn't happen enough, heh. Fluffy is nice, a little pain never hurt anyone though.
I read that situational ethics too. quite intriguing. Just didn't understand how Snape could have been with this wife and yet still yearns for Harry. He already made his bed, didn't he? And now he wants to Harry back? Gah! And the updates's not fast enough... :p
It is odd, he's meant to love his wife, but then so easily casts her aside for Harry. I think it might have worked better if he had been married for a long time. I like the twist that the wife and Harry really get along though, how it makes Harry feel so guilty, mean while Snape is so Slytherin over it.
*nods* aha, I think the author is definitely improving though. I tried reading the other fic they've written, and well, don't read it, spare yourself the pain. "Situational Ethics" is a work in progress on every level I think, but the concept is secure, I like it too!
It would be really interesting to see if there are any others for comparison though.
