|I'm not overfond of Harry-cheating-on-Ginny (family breakup) fics, though.
I'm with you on that front, plus I sort of think that Harry, no matter what his true feelings, would have stuck with her for the sakes of the children, or at least because the Weasley family. Though there was William in the Civil War series, that was some lovely infidelity.
I have to ask, if you had to pick a point in DH, or in fact any of the books, to turn it slashy, which would it have been? For Snape to have dethrowned Ginny, or even Cho =/
If you want Harry to stay with Ginny for the sake of the kids you might like "Being Snape". Although it is in fact Snape's decision that Harry at least wait until his children are at Hogwarts. It even has a somewhat hopeful ending for Snape and Harry.
I am about 90% sure I've read that already, thanks for the rec' though! I shall have to re-read it now, yay! I just find it hard to like the children, some fics have really managed it, developed them so well, but so many just turn them into their name sakes... Wouldn't it be more fun if James turned into a male stripper? Lily was a squib, and Albus Severus, er, chucked it all in to be a pig farmer, lol, well okay, perhaps not, but something like that.
yeah that would be cool. The kids don't make any big appearances in Being Snape, though. There are just one or two scenes with them.

I think that the Half-Blood Prince had some lovely moments. Perhaps Harry's detention during the Saturday Quidditch match of the year, and instead of going back to his common room after the Game, he would have stayed behind, and had it out with Severus, and one thing leading to another...
Then he never would have been there for the celebration and the ensuing...Ginny. *g*
